I'm Loving Monotype
I haven't blogged in a while. Summer is such a busy time but I have been working on new art. I took a three month membership at Atelier 6000 in Bend and have been creating monotype prints - non objective and landscapes. I love the spontaneity of monotype. Painting on the plexiglass plate seems so forgiving. I can wipe back, scrape, and layer color and strokes before running it through the press to make the print. I've experimented with over printing up to six times on some prints. The Akua soy inks are a great consistency and easy to work with and I like how they seem to melt into the Rives BFK paper.
